There are days when it all comes together: the styling, the client, your mood as the photographer, the light, the location….. and it’s just magic!! That’s what happened with this mama-to-be’s maternity photography!! When the lovely lady stepped out of the car wearing this amazing dress and floral crown I just about fainted with excitement! Her bohemian flower crown was so perfect for this rustic, wildflowers and grass field that was the first location of our maternity pictures. Paired with her bold red lipstick – she looked drop, dead gorgeous!! I could tell that it was going to be a really fun shoot and afternoon 🙂
We often shoot our maternity photography at our Los Angeles photo studio, but I love to go on location as well! I was particularly excited about this location, since it was just a few days before the wild flowers finished for the season. We had this client’s maternity pictures scheduled weeks in advance, and I knew that she was really excited to have the wild flowers blooming in the background of her pregnancy pictures.
I have a really cool top secret spot where I love to take clients for these pictures – the problem is that the flowers only bloom once per year and it only lasts about a month. So, in the days before – I kept driving by my photo shoot location to check on the flowers and make sure they were still blooming and would last until our photo session. Luckily, nature waited until we had captured these perfect images and then they went dormant for the year!
