This dreamy shoot was one for the books—filled with custom set designs, meaningful touches, and styling that turned every photo into a little piece of magic.
We started soft and sentimental. Wrapped in a cozy blue knit with a stocking cap and surrounded by fluffy clouds and tiny stars, this baby looked like he’d floated right out of a dream. The cloudscape set, designed by The Pod Photography’s West LA team, was a perfect blend of classic and imaginative. It felt timeless. Something the family could frame in the nursery and treasure for years to come.
But then things got fun…
From Storybook Sweet to Oscar-Worthy
One of our favorite things about newborn sessions is weaving in a family’s personality. Whether it’s a beloved book series, a favorite singer, or a future vision of who baby might grow up to be, those little nods make the photos captures by The Pod Photography team so much more personal.
For this session, the family asked us to include a few specific themes:
- A Harry Potter inspired set, since it’s one of their favorite movie series
- A mini man cave nodding to the legendary Luis Miguel
- And the sweet, sleepy dreamland theme to anchor the shoot in softness
The West LA creative team brought it all to life with a level of detail worthy of an Oscar. From tiny glasses and magic wands to mini musical instruments and a vintage leather armchair scaled to newborn size, every piece was hand-selected and styled to perfection.
The Magic of the Details
While the big picture of a set is what initially catches the eye, it’s often the smallest details that carry the most emotional weight. A teddy bear tucked under one arm. A little bottle of “Blue Label” cradled by tiny hands. Close-ups of curled toes, soft lips, and dreamy lashes.
These are the shots that parents come back to again and again. Not just because they’re beautiful, but because they capture a moment that’s already passing. Newborns change quickly, and there’s something powerful about preserving these early days in a way that feels both artistic and deeply personal.
