Hey Pod Family,
Leah here. Most of you know me as the First Birthday photographer here at The Pod Photography. Others of you know me as Erika’s right hand, or “Set Designer Extraordinaire!” 🙂
On January 26th, 2012, I walked into The Pod for an interview. I still remember how amazing it smelled in the studio and I was blown away that a company like this existed. Erika and I had an immediate connection and sure enough, I landed the Production Manager position. I spent my first two years here editing and assisting on these incredible photoshoots, answering emails and calls, and was so fulfilled that I had a job at this super-cool photo studio. And, with a pretty sweet boss!
As the years went on, I learned SO MUCH from Erika. More than anything I ever learned in school! And as I learned, I grew. We grew, the company grew, the team grew. Soon enough, I was trusted with the camera and became one of The Pod’s MVPs 🙂
Over these eight amazing years, I have made amazing connections with so many of you. Hundreds of you, in fact. And each one by name. I’ve gotten the profound opportunity to document your most special memories, welcoming new life into your family, celebrating your milestones and telling your family’s story. There have been many hugs exchanged, beautiful artwork displayed, and literally generations of stories created.
I am so honored to be a part of your story.
It’s very bittersweet to share with you all that today, December 14th, 2019 is my last day working here at The Pod Photography. And many of you have asked what’s next for me. Well, in these past eight years, I’ve grown up a lot, I’ve navigated my 20’s and learned more and more about who I am and what I’m passionate about. And with everything Erika has taught me, my wings are now ready to fly! So, I’m off starting my own business, doing transformative work with women and using photography as one aspect of that process.
And honestly, none of this would be possible without all that I’ve learned here. From Erika, from this team of amazing women, and from YOU. Being with our Pod clients has been my most favorite part of being here. And all of the interactions we’ve had have made a huge difference in my life, so THANK YOU.
I leave you all with my immense Love and Gratitude for you. I’m going to miss you. AND, I’m just a phone call away. Who knows, maybe I’ll have to sneak back into the studio for a few special requests 🙂 🙂
