Planning a first birthday party is a lot of work and picking the right theme can be such a challenge itself! Luckily, living in 2017, it’s a lot easier with the help of Etsy and Pinterest where you can look through endless pages of what people have done before risking messing anything up. Some of the more popular themes that we have seen here at our studio are Hot Air Balloons, Where The Wild Things Are, Outer Space, Camping/Boho Teepee, Little Gentlemen (Mustaches), Circus, and Nautical for boys, and then for girls the classics are Pink, Gold and White (see our last blog post), Bohemian Tea Party, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Parisian.
Some themes absolutely go girly or very boy, but one of my absolutely favorite themes boy both girls and boys is Candy Shop. The bold colors are such a beautiful pop against all skin tones and can go very masculine or sweet and feminine depending on who’s rocking the set!
We had so much fun photographing Dylan’s first birthday cake smash session here at our portrait studio in Hollywood and his little green shorts were so darn cute! And after he was done making a mess out of his cake, we dunked him into our adorable little bubble bath and boy did he have a blast! Talk about a splash session! This little man had so much fun splishing and splashing water all over the studio and it was the cutest thing we ever saw!
