“Best. Decision. Ever.
Let me back up. I never really understood the Anne Geddes rage in the 90s. Babies are cute, sure, but sitting them in flower pots seemed a bit odd. Call me crazy.
Ok, fast forward to 2 weeks ago, to the birth of my daughter. Well, now I get it. I’ve become the mayor of Crazytown. I want to put her in flower pots and sauce pots and anything else to hold her while I take a bazillion photos her.
I know that my iPhone is not going to cut it this time. Of course, never enough storage and my baby girl needs a professional lens. We’re in the big leagues now.
I find The Pod and Erika. But, I realize I may have blown it. My daughter is already 7 days old when I call (newborn sessions are within first 10 days). However, Erika was accommodating and squeezed me into her very tight schedule by the grace of another client who happened to reschedule.
Miracles do happen! Erika made sure we connected again later that day to discuss styling. This way, she knew exactly how to set up the different sets for the shoot.
Walked into the gorgeous studio the next morning. Each set was perfect. Erika had listened to my styling cues and nailed it! They have every fabric, basket, headband, lace and prop you could ever dream of. Also, Erika has each and every piece catalogued in her head and is able to call it out on a moment’s notice. Serious ‘pro’ status.
They offered cookies and cappuccino, which made Grandma very happy indeed. They welcomed my dog with treats too!
I was on Cloud 9 the whole time (about 2 hours or so). It was such a thrill to watch Erika, Halley and Leah work with my little girl.
Without a doubt, the best. decision. ever.
The Pod will be our studio for years and years to come of family photos. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to capture once-in-a-lifetime memories.”
